Director of Business Development, Financing and Divestitures

Position Summary:

 

This position will be focused on the downstream activities across all Aditum Bio portfolio companies, working with external companies, investors, and bankers to generate and execute financings (venture, crossover, IPO, or SPAC), partnerships and divestitures.  The candidate will develop the exit strategy for each therapy upon in-licensing, identifying potential acquirers downstream, and keeping them informed of our progress.  The candidate will manage the divestiture process to successful conclusion. The candidate will also manage financings of the portfolio companies, as needed throughout the development cycle. 

Position Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Establish exit plan or external financing plan for each portfolio company at the time of initial formation. Contact and manage potential acquirers of the therapy, keeping them informed of our progress and establishing relationships.
     

  • Running the divestiture process for each portfolio company at the appropriate time. This includes managing the entire project from pitch deck and initial bids, to contract.
     

  • Manage financing and/or partnership/acquisition processes for portfolio companies as appropriate through exit of the investment by Aditum Bio.
     

  • Establish strong network of external investors, bankers, and potential acquirers.
     

  • This role may involve supervision of junior business development associates as needed and hired.  Otherwise this role will work collaboratively with the VP of Business Development and other functional area VPs to develop and execute BD strategy.

Position Qualifications:

  • Established track record of sell-side deal generation and execution in biotech or pharma.

 

  • At least 6 years of experience in a sell-side business development role within biotech or pharma, investment banking (boutique or bulge bracket), or deal advisory services to biotech or pharma clients.

 

  • Experience with multiple deal structures, including therapeutic product licensing, company M&A, venture/crossover financing, IPO, and SPAC.

 

  • FINRA registration a plus.

 

  • Ability to work collaboratively, achieve consensus on strategy, and drive proactively to deal execution.

 

  • Positive former client / company / colleague references.
